Corporate law can involve many types of business related issues including; internal disputes within companies, buying or selling a business, leasing, employment law, drafting contracts and contractual disputes, debt recovery and insolvency.

Internal company disputes

I am a litigation specialist with over 30 years’ experience practising law and providing the best legal advice and representation to my clients. Wherever possible I always try to negotiate a resolution that can be agreed upon by both parties, to avoid entering into a court dispute.

Buying or selling a business

A lawyer can assist you with the process of buying or selling a business.

If you are selling a business, I will work with you and your accountant or financial advisor to help you negotiate a price that will give you the best net return.

If you are buying a business, I can help make sure that the business structure is set up properly, make sure that you are purchasing everything you’ll need to run the business and make sure that you are protected from any debts or liabilities incurred by the seller.

Insolvency

Insolvency is not the same thing as bankruptcy and businesses that become insolvent don’t necessary end up filing for bankruptcy. Under the Australian Corporations Act there is an option to avoid winding up a company that is unable to pay its debts.

My success as a lawyer comes from the personal attention I give every client. I will take the time to listen to you and understand your situation and what it is you want to achieve. I will speak to you in plain English so that you understand exactly where you stand and what likely outcome you can expect.
